24

I have recently turned 24 in September, 4 years or so of being a young adult.
Somedays I am immature in my thoughts and actions, and perhaps
I am still growing out of this phase of life. I'm allowed mistakes right?
I am not a perfect human being. NO one is.
I need guidance.
I may not be 100% independent because I have never lived by myself,
away from my parents. I have never left my nest, my home for 24 years.
I am just not exposed, not because I don't want to, its just that
I am not faced with that experience in my life before.
Maybe I will one day? I don't know.
Maybe I don't  have to and that itself is a blessing!
Apart from that the other fact about me is that
I have been in only one adult relationship thus far, the ones in
high school-college years don't officially count as a serious relationship
although we might have been with each other for 1 year or so.
My high school relationships were fun and they were a phase of life I
miss much.

Fast forwarding into the future, I am here now.
My current relationship is currently facing its not so good days.
It has been affecting me, the time I spend on work is less than that of this relationship
because I am serious about this relationship, I am serious about this guy I am seeing,
I waited quite a bit to tell my parents about him, took some time for my dad to accept it
as well, but I won't say I am all grown up now, but I am going through a process in
life whereby I am looking for someone I can grow up with and to share my life experiences
with, Masters, work, family. The same process.
He is a Peads Specialist. in a govt. hosp.
10 years my senior
But we anchored on till today. 2 years 3 months.
It took me some time to adjust to his schedule, his hectic work hours,
there were days where he stays over at the hospital, I was never worried about him
but I was concerned if he ate enough for the day or that he had enough rest.
He will inform me of such things.
We were different from the other couples out there in a sense that, we do not meet
too often, once a week is probably the average amount of times we meet,
as of late he calls me everyday when he can. He doesn't say I miss you or I love you
but I give him credit for showing it in his actions and other words that might mean so.
I am exposed into such seriousness in a partner in an early stage of life; I was merely 22.
